In a study released on November 9, 2004, scientists found that Pfizer’s arthritis pain relief medication, Bextra, may carry a higher risk of fatal heart attacks and cardiac problems than Vioxx and other similar drugs. There also appears to be an increased risk of stroke associated with the use of Bextra.
Bextra has been known to induce gastrointestinal side effects like ulcers, bleeding and perforation. Bextra may also adversely affect the renal system, the liver, and may also cause fluid retention that can lead to additional problems for those who suffer from high blood pressure or heart failure.
If you or a loved one has experienced a heart attack, stroke or Stevens Johnson Syndrome after taking Bextra, you may have a claim against Pfizer.
